
In addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner, Bee Desserts & Café's Brazilian inspired menu includes a dessert section boasting four varieties of honey cakes; original, marshmallow, liqueur, and almond. The restaurant's signature dessert is baked with honey in place of sugar and costs $4 (save for the liqueur which will set you back an extra $.50). Each of the four flavors comes enrobed in a thin chocolate shell emblazoned with a cartoonish bee.
I chose the almond honey cake as this week's Fat Friday's indulgence, grabbed a spot in the garden out back, and relished in the combination of bittersweet chocolate, moist honey-sweetened cake, and crunchy slivers of toasted almond. A perfect treat.
